Can your intuition lead you to paradise?

Will your intuition always guide you down the path of your greatest happiness and fulfillment? Will it ensure you arrive where you want to go in life, and provide the best possible experience along the way?

After all, your intuition is hooked up to some of the wisest sources of information out there – the greater universal intelligence that makes up the fabric of everything that exists. Can such information help you leapfrog day-to-day struggles and lead you to paradise?

I’m all for consulting intuition. It’s far underused in our modern world, and we’d all be better off if more people recognized the valuable role it has in guiding us towards making better choices in our lives.

But over-reliance on your intuition is just as bad as over-reliance on logic, and possibly worse.

Here’s why:

1. Intuition tends to corroborate the goals and decisions that you’ve already made with your conscious, thinking mind.

For example:

A) If you work in a day job and want your life to be easier, your intuition will help you navigate the challenges you face there and reduce your stress.

B) When you’re traveling on vacation and want to have a good time, your intuition can help you stay safe while guiding you towards having an enjoyable time.

There’s a flow, a reflection of universal consciousness in every activity, in every possible path. There’s a path of flow and least resistance to working in a day job, or traveling on vacation. Your intuition helps you tap into those different streams of flow and consciousness.

But just because your intuition is helping you with these activities, that doesn’t mean that these activities, overall, will lead to your greatest satisfaction. Perhaps you don’t like your job, or you shouldn’t be traveling on vacation because you’re in debt and you can’t afford it. You’ve chosen these activities through habit and choice. You can call on your intuition to help you fulfill and get the most out of your choices, even if, in the big picture, they’re not the right choice for you.

2. Your vibrational state determines the intuitive guidance you can receive.

You can’t receive certain intuitive information until you’re ready for it – otherwise it won’t resonate with you. For your intuition to direct you down a certain path, you have to have already pre-paved that path to some degree both mentally and emotionally.

Intuition often comes in the form of the right puzzle piece at the right time. You’ve been mulling on an issue, and its many different possibilities, when suddenly, an idea clicks and you’re able to latch onto it. That’s your intuition at work! But without pre-paving in the form of laying out and considering all your various options, you wouldn’t get that puzzle piece because it wouldn’t have had anywhere to fit.

There’s a striking resemblance here between how intuition works and the Law of Attraction. If you’re in a vibrational state where you’re feeling good, you’re taking lots of action and your life is improving very quickly, your intuition will support that by directing you towards even more actions you can take to keep improving your situation.

If you’re a home-bound couch potato and you’re feeling depressed or bored with life, the best your intuition can do for you is to tell you to get off your butt, go outside and interact with people. You cannot be guided directly to a favorable situation if your vibrational state is the total opposite.

Intuition isn’t a short cut for taking action and growing through the challenges of life. It compliments your own logic and common sense, and the more you help yourself, the more your intuition will help you.

3. Intuition is not a substitute for discipline, focus or good habits.

You can get the most powerful intuitive insights and still be stuck spinning your wheels. If your intuition tells you that being a doctor would be a fulfilling career, you must still spend many years doing the necessary training, much of which is incredibly hard work. That insight is no good to you if you don’t have the motivation and discipline to act on it.

The most successful people in the world are connected to their intuition at least to some degree. But they’re also some of the most disciplined and focused people, and they’re often vigilant about maintaining good habits.

Nearly any worthwhile pursuit is going to be a lot of work. The inspiration that you get from your intuition can help you get the ball rolling on new projects and new directions. Then it’s up to you to keep that ball rolling through thick and thin.

Intuition isn’t a magic bullet.

It can help guide you towards more favorable situations in your life when you decide that’s what you want, and that you’re willing to take the necessary action to get there.

There are many different possible paths you can take in life. Universal intelligence isn’t dead bent on guiding you down any particular path. That’s why it’s important for you to be the pilot of your own life and steer yourself towards the life experience you’d like to have.  Your intuition is the wise guide whose advice can give you the extra boost you need to get over hurdles, avoid pitfalls, and take advantage of opportunities you might otherwise miss.

You still have to do all the work of living your life. You still have to learn and take risks. And you can never get rid of all the uncertainty. But what fun would life be if you could? ;)

The article is Bang on!!! Superb buddy!!!! Profound and well written.

This is what I tell people using the rocket example that intuition is like its booster and not to confuse it as the main engine.

I never thought of intuition to be “inappropriate” in a given situation.
That’s a very interesting perspective, it’s useful to frame it the way you did.
Thanks, Alex!

I don’t think intuition is ever inappropriate, you should always use your intuition, but it’s a guide, not a pilot :)

Your article makes some good and interesting points about intuition that I think are really worth considering. Yet, I’ve just had the experience, over the last 3 months, of feeling really uncomfortable, rather than comfortable, because of my intuition. I’ve recently had the experience of my intuition telling me a man I met (who I felt a real connection with, who seemed thoughtful and kind, whom I quite liked) was ‘someone I can hold on to’ (a voice stating it very clearly 3 times in a row) and I have since had a great deal of synchronicities that have served to remind me that this man exists, even though I have not heard from him in over 2 months (he lives far from me). I’ve also been dreaming about him regularly, and when I check in with my intuition, it still says he will come back for me. When I check in further, my intuition tells me to have faith and patience.
All of this has led to a real crisis of faith. I have often gotten in trouble for not listening to my intuition. Now, over the last 2 years, I’ve made headway in listening to my intuition. Yet, this latest experience, where my intuition tells me one thing, and the physical experience of this man falling out of contact, has served to, paradoxically, both lead me to doubt myself, but also lead me to try to understand intuition, tune in more, and ask for guidance on a daily basis. Talk about confusion. Furthermore, I cannot understand what I am being guided to learn from these dreams and synchronicities. After doing a lot of work to tune in and release ties to the man through visualizations, I assumed the synchronicities and dreams would dry up, but they haven’t. ??? Does anyone have any insight into synchronicities?
